Raising the Light of the Mother
for the Opening of the Crown

The Diamond Pin of the Divine Mother

Good evening, children of the light. I extend to you the blessing of the Brotherhood of the Royal Teton and of the councils of the Great White Brotherhood and of our Lord Sanat Kumara and of the Father-Mother God.

I welcome you to my heart. I would take you to my heart. And in my heart I would speak to you on those things that are important to you and on those things that are important to me. I would speak to you of your needs of this hour and of every hour.

I place my hand upon your shoulder, as a father, to tell you that all is well. All is not lost, for that which is lost will be found again and that which is found again is lost. Is this the riddle of the Zen? Is this the whirling of the T’ai Chi—of the light of Spirit and Mater, alternating the currents of the Buddha and the Mother?

Let the prodigal sons of mankind come home to the heart of Buddha and of Mother. Let the children who are lost be found within the heart, and let them lose themselves in the heart of Mother. Let those who find the Buddha lose all lesser awareness of self and become the Buddha. Seeking and find-ing, finding and seeking—this is the Middle Way, this is the Eightfold Path.1

Come to me as I come to you. Is there any other oneness than the oneness of the Buddha and the Mother? Is there any other way to go than the way of Sumedha?2

O my soul, O my soul, my soul—souls in mankind, souls in the children of the light, souls throughout a cosmos—I contact. I send out a line. It is a rescue line. You must catch the line so that I can pull you to the heart of Mother.

You see, we have the lifeline, but you must hold fast. For the sea is boisterous and the night is coming and land is not in sight. And therefore, you need the hand of Buddha and the beacon in the tower. You need to approach the home and the fire burning there.

Two Visions

Come dry yourself. Come with me. I will take you by the hand. I will make it easier for you to come into the flame. Outside the circle of the One, all is darkness—that outer darkness, where there is no gain, where there is no loss; for there is no identity in God to gain or lose but only the nebulous not-consciousness of perpetual dying. I saw all of this as Siddhartha. I saw the futility of life in this world, and that vision was the greatest gift given to me second to this—this vision of the Mother.

The supreme adoration of the Mother is the greatest glory of all. And when you catch her eye and you know that she catches yours, you know that you are home, even if it is across the vastness of cosmos. The Mother has recognized you. The Mother knows you are coming home. The Mother believes in you. The Mother will wait for you. The Mother knows that you have many paths to take, many lessons to learn. But once you have caught her eye, you will know that her eye is upon you all the way.

And so, when I knew Mother, Mother showed to me that second vision—that vision of vanity, futility, poverty, mortality and the perpetually changing rounds of manifestation leading nowhere, nowhere. And I determined to go somewhere—somewhere; I knew not where but I knew by vibration that I must follow erg by erg the increase of light until I should commune with God himself. And God blessed me in my pursuit of light.

Kali and the Many Faces of Mother

Men speak of sacrifices and testings and temptations. They speak of all of the darkness arrayed against Siddhartha. But take heart, these are short-lived if you will but remember that every step of the way of all opposition to your flame is but the imagination of the Evil One, but the figment—an arranging of molecules of maya to take you from the Path. To be so sure that all of the movement of the dark ones is unreal, as the Mother has told you, to be certain, to know in fact that just behind the curtain of darkness is the reality of life in God— this gives you the courage of a David to slay a Goliath. It gives you the courage of a Kali to slay all the demons and the hordes of demons stampeding to attack the little ones.

Let me give you a vision of Kali this night. I have seen her swinging her sword in circular motion so quickly that you could not perceive it in time and space—a whirling sword. I have seen her stand facing the stampede of the demons calculated to make even the gods and goddesses tremble. I have seen her raise her sword and quickly, quicker than the eye, pierce every one of them to protect her precious children. As her children were behind her and the demons before her, she had no choice but to slay them all. And slay them all she did.*

This is Kali, a very special incarnation of Mother. I adore her as I adore the Virgin Mary, as I adore all of the lady masters of heaven, and Omega. And you know, our God is so gracious. He has provided so many faces of Mother, so many images, so many ways—here tenderness and there fierceness, and here compassion and there the giver of the Law, such sternness as to wither even the angels.

You must understand, the Mother has a look for every one of her children, a very special look, a very special care, calculated to sort out the pennies in the pockets, all of the little treasures of the children, to make them sort out all of the little vibrations in the pockets of consciousness. And just when that little boy with his hands in his pockets, whistling down the street, thinks that he has somehow fooled the Mother with that cookie in his pocket, the Mother comes and puts her hand in that pocket with the hand of the little boy and takes out the cookie. And there he looks, into her face—there to see the sternness, there to see the twinkle in her eye, there to see a Mother who knows, a Mother who also likes cookies.

The Wonders of the Wisdom of the Mother

Precious ones, the wisdom of the Mother is past finding out. Therefore I learned long ago, do not try to understand Mother; only listen. Only listen to her Word, for she carries the wisdom of the Father. Even the author of Proverbs knew of the wonders of the wisdom of the Mother. He counseled his sons and daughters to follow her as wisdom. But he, in all his wisdom, could not explain the workings of the wisdom but only the qualities of the wisdom.

The secrets of the Mother are vast and so are her mysteries. But do you know that even the elementals tug upon her garment and woo her until she releases the petals of her mysteries? The secrets of the Mother are not past finding out, but she holds them for a while until her children show that they are able to treasure those secrets of her heart.

And I will tell you another secret: the Mother has a very great desire to impart that wisdom. And really she is not as fierce as she looks. And really, you can—if you will, if you will plead with her and coax her and play upon her love— convince her to impart to you a special message, a special mantra, a special task.

Mother showed me the things of this world. Mother showed me that I must pierce the night of fear and doubt and all resistance to the God flame. Mother showed me the suffering ones, who would suffer unless I would come to claim the light of wisdom.

Do you understand that there is a very sacred science involved with the opening of the crown chakra? The action of the flow of light of Mother rising through the spine, and upon the spinal altar to the crown, is an activation of the mind of God within you.

It is necessary that we have devotees who are willing to raise that energy for the opening of the crown. This is why I am coming to Summit University—for the holy anointing of those whom I have called to be those who will be illumined in the crown and thereby be worthy to wear the crown of Buddha and the crown of Mother. And you will be as the lighthouse on the summit of the mountain, with that crown of Buddhic light, that golden halo.

You see, the fallen ones have torn from mankind their crown. This is why it is written, “Let no man take thy crown.”3 They have pressed down their condemnation upon the heads of the sons and daughters of God. They have taken their hands and pressed down with accusation, with the weight of condemnation, to force that light of Buddha and of Mother. And where they could not take it from the children of God, they have invented every device to make these children misuse the energies of the crown.

A Petition from Ascended Saints

There have been saints who have ascended prior to the full blessing of the bliss of communion in the Buddha. They have earned their ascension by balancing karma, by service, and their energies have been centered in the heart, as they have anchored the Sacred Heart of Mary and of Jesus. Do you know that it was not long ago that a company of these saints— these ascended ones who had won their dispensations according to Christ’s teachings—came knocking at the door of Shamballa. And they came led by some who have graduated from among you and from the students of the I AM.4 And they asked for an audience with me, which of course I granted.

And the spokesman for the group said, “Lord Gautama, we have come to ask a special petition of thee.” And I said, “What is it, pray tell, my children?” And the devotee said to me, “We have observed the aspiring ones on Terra, and we have had the experience of making our ascension and we have come to meditate with thee. We long to share the bliss of communion in thy crown with unascended souls on the path of the ascension. We come to ask, Gautama, that thou shouldst teach them the raising of the light of Mother for the fulfillment of the light of Buddha, that they might have this attainment prior to the ascension, as the Eastern devotees are taught. We ask thee, Gautama, to give this teaching to the West.”

And I said to the devotee and to the entire company, “Yes, my beloved, it is time. It is time for the devotees to know intimately, in all of their chakras, this light of Buddha and of Mother.” And Mary also heard the petition.

And so you have been given techniques which are preparing you for the enlightenment of the age and for the anchoring in the West of the wisdom of the crown and of the mind of God. You have the Hail Mary and the Mystery of Surrender.5 You have the meditations of the white-fire core, the rising of the sphere of fire through the channels of the chakras.6 These techniques (together with others which I shall bring as a part of our course) will secure in the West, in the teachings of the ascended masters to their chelas, the way of the Buddha and the Mother and the way of the raising of the sacred fire by the action of resurrection’s spiral.

And so it is a propitious moment. It is the moment for the coming of resurrection’s flame, for the crown of resurrection’s fire, for the impetus of the resurrection to the new birth. With this we seal the new year for the devotees, who in turn will seal the new year by their devotion for all mankind.

And so the company of saints was satisfied. And I, too, was satisfied. For when petitions come from ascended ones on behalf of the unascended body of God and when they give to us the understanding of experience on the Path, we listen and we understand and we counsel with the Lords of Karma. And we look at the cosmic cycles, and we see that they have also tuned in to the dispensations of the Solar Logoi for the children of earth.

The very same Cosmic Council that met aeons ago concerning the fate of Terra is meeting this night. And when the Mother of the Flame takes leave of her body this night in sleep, she will attend this council meeting, which concerns once again the fate of earth.

The First to Come Home

Long ago, the council decided that earth should no longer remain a focus in time and space. It was then that Sanat Kumara said, “Wait, I will go and keep the flame. I will go and keep the vigil for mankind.” And so you know the story of the coming of the Ancient of Days and of the legions of the Holy Kumaras, the story of the building of Shamballa, the story of the Yule log being lighted by the Lord of the World each year, symbol of the fire of the threefold flame.7

And so when I went out in my search for God and I began to rise and the energies of Mother began to rise within me and I found the opening of the crown and the thousand-petaled lotus burst forth—and through the crown I ascended to the plane of the Christ and the plane of the I AM Presence and to the light of the white-fire core of the I AM Presence— I found myself standing before the Lord of the World, Sanat Kumara.

And he said to me, “My Son, you are the first of the first-fruits of earth to return to the paradise of God. You are the first to respond to my flame. You are the first to come home.”

And I knelt in silence. And for a long time, we communed in the embrace of Father and Son. And the gratitude of the Ancient of Days was the anointing of my being and the reward of any sacrifice, if one could call it that, which I had made. And so we began the period of the teaching, the forty-nine days, when I sat under the Bo tree communing with the Ancient of Days. Forty-nine days for the giving of the teaching. Can you take any less?

Count yourself worthy of the teaching. Count yourself humble to receive it. Count yourself among the meek who would inherit the earth. Count yourself among the peacemakers who are called the children of God. Count yourself among those who would be emptied that they might be filled.8

How do you know that you know the Law until you have entered into the white-fire core of the I AM Presence to be God-taught? You have heard the teaching, you have heard about the teaching. You must secure it for yourself. The Mother will give you the guidelines, the disciplines, the initiations, the components of the vast puzzle of a cosmos. But all of these must be assembled in your own heart, like a child with a kit, to assemble this very precious movement, a movement of the cosmic computer.

And because the Mother teaches her children how the Law works, they are able to take the directions and follow them and complete a matrix and, with that matrix, rise to the crown, know the bursting of the thousand-petaled lotus, rise to the Christ Self, enter the spheres of the causal body, and cycle back to the center of the One, there to commune in nirvana with the eternal light of Christos.

The Buddha’s Meditation

I raise my hands to give you my gift. It is a gift of solstice, a very special gift for each one of you, especially selected to complete a facet of your divine plan—a very essential portion of the whole of life which you seek to fulfill. It is locked within your heart.

And when you enter the temple of the heart this night, you will find this gift upon the altar. And you will open it there when you are all alone, and you will find what it is that your Father desires you to have. And you will see in the gift a symbol and a sign unmistakable to your soul. And by that gift you will know just how close to each one of you I am, just how aware I am of your secret thoughts, your motives and your God-desire.

I will be meditating in the lotus posture throughout the year, meditating upon the immaculate conception of each one of you and every devotee who is striving to enter in to the flame of the heart. For when the soul reaches the chakra of the heart and is centered in the Christ flame, then that soul is ready to be tutored of the Buddha, is ready to receive the initiations of the Buddha, is ready to be taken higher.

The testing of whether or not the soul is ready to come to the feet of Buddha is not outer learning or outer preparation, but the readiness of the heart. A heart filled with love does not fear to approach the throne of Buddha. A heart illumined by Christ waits all the day upon the Buddha. A heart filled with faith will have the courage to approach the Buddha.

And when that soul comes to the focus of the Buddha, that soul will find me there meditating upon the Divine Mother. And so intense is my meditation upon the Mother that her light flows through me sufficiently to sustain a planet and her evolutions. And this is how it came to pass that I received the crown of the Lord of the World. For Sanat Kumara said to me, “My son, your adoration of the Mother has increased your light and the spheres of your consciousness and has intensified your light to the place where all of the evolutions of earth can live from the light which you release from Mother until they are able to contact that light for themselves.”

I could only bow in gratitude that the Divine Mother had heard my call, my meditations, and that these were acceptable in her sight. When you see me smiling as I meditate, know that my face reflects the smile of Mother, and I can only smile as I behold her love. And so, when you look at me, may the smile of Buddha be upon your face so that when others look upon you, they will see the smile of Mother.

The Matrix of the Diamond Heart of Mother Ray

Now the angels of Sanat Kumara, angels from out the Great Central Sun, angels of cosmos are winging their way carrying the scroll, the sacred scroll, on which is written the thoughtform for the year 1976. They place it in my hands and I unroll the sacred scroll. And there is given to Terra in this year a focus of the Diamond Heart of Mary, the Diamond Heart of the Divine Mother. And this focus is the diamond pin which the Divine Mother has worn upon her breast for centuries and centuries. It is a diamond pin which you have seen as you have come to the altar of the Divine Mother even thousands and tens of thousands of years ago. In your eye, your very eye, there is a record of this diamond pin which you have seen. And therefore, it is a sign of home, of Mother’s love, of her caress, of her heart. And it will be a sign to all of the children of Terra that the Mother is nigh.

She comes at first veiled, and her children know her by her signs—her voice, her laughter, her joy, her sorrow, her understanding, her silence and her silent glow. But most of all, the children will remember that when they were held in the arms of Mother and they opened their eyes, they saw that diamond pin shining, reflecting the threefold flame of her heart. And as they closed their eyes again to sleep the sleep of love and dream the dream of the One, they were comforted in that matrix of the Diamond Heart of Mother ray.

So it is enshrined for the opening of the heart chakras, for souls to rise to the level of the heart so that I can take them to the level of the crown. Just as the Holy Kumaras and the Ancient of Days released the electrode of the mind of God, so we release this electrode for the stirring of the hearts of a people to the memory of Mother, and they will follow that memory to her teaching. And when they come to her teaching, they will find me there and I will raise them to the enlightenment of Father.

Now, take the lessons of the Buddha and the Mother, and the meditations. Take the mantras, take the songs, take the love, take the truth, take the identity of your Real Self, and make them live. Make them live! Make them live, my children! And you, too, shall live!

I AM Gautama. I return into the flame to meditate upon the Cosmic Virgin. In the name of her flame that lives, I wish you a happy and a joyous New Year. And to all, God-victory, God-peace, God-enlightenment!

“The Summit Lighthouse Sheds Its Radiance o’er All the World to Manifest as Pearls of Wisdom.”

This dictation by Gautama Buddha was delivered by the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Elizabeth Clare Prophet on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 1975, during The Challenge of Initiation conference, held in Anaheim, California.

1. The Middle Way and the Eightfold Path. In Gautama Buddha’s first sermon following his enlightenment under the Bo tree, he outlined the Eightfold Path. He explained that by following this path and avoiding the extremes of self-indulgence and self-mortification, one gains knowledge of the Middle Way, which is to live a balanced life. The Eightfold Path gives eight precepts for right living: (1) Right Understanding (or Right Views), (2) Right Aspiration (or Right Thought), (3) Right Speech, (4) Right Action, (5) Right Livelihood, (6) Right Effort, (7) Right Mindfulness, and (8) Right Concentration (or Right Absorption of God).

2. Sumedha was a previous embodiment of Gautama Buddha. The Buddha Dipamkara prophesied that Sumedha would indeed become a Buddha. And, unlike other souls, Sumedha accepted his God-ordained destiny, his responsibility to become a Buddha.

During the darkest hours of earth’s history, when her evolutions fell to the level of cavemen and lost contact with the God flame and the mighty I AM Presence, the earth was at the point of being dissolved because no one was keeping the flame of the Christ consciousness. Sanat Kumara, the Ancient of Days, came with 144,000 volunteers from Venus to Earth to rekindle the threefold flame in the hearts of her people. Some of the Holy Kumaras were part of this retinue of great beings of light. On an island in the Gobi Sea, a group who came before Sanat Kumara built Shamballa, the City of White, patterned after the city of the Kumaras on Venus. Sanat Kumara established the focus of the threefold flame in this retreat, which remained in the physical octave for many centuries. He restored the spiritual and physical fire to the earth. People would come each year from many miles to witness the visible, physical sacred fire and to take home a piece of wood consecrated by Sanat Kumara to light their fires through the coming year. Thus, the Yule log of Sanat Kumara commemorates the return to the fire of Christhood—of threefold self-hood returning to humanity the hope of immortality. This symbol has persisted to the present. Sanat Kumara’s mission was completed on January 1, 1956, when Gautama Buddha, his most capable disciple, was awarded the position of Lord of the World, having enough momen-tum to hold the balance for the planet and the focus of the threefold flame. Thus Gautama became the successor of Sanat Kumara and the hierarch of Shamballa.
