Vol. 50 No. 11 - Beloved Jesus Christ - June 1, 2007

Radiate the Light and Love of the Christ

Your Works for the Light Are Never in Vain

Peace be unto thee—the peace of the Cosmic Christ, the peace of the all-enfolding light of God, the illumination that, before the world was, framed the world in the consciousness of your Father and my Father, your God and my God.

I bring you tonight the faith that sustained me in those moments of my mission which were fraught with elements of terror to the human consciousness.

Have you ever faced an angry mob, beloved ones, determined to extinguish the flame of life that is within you because of the truth which you proclaim? Have you ever gazed into hostile faces who, in the name of God, sought to destroy you? Have you ever held the unguents of heaven within your hands to apply to the wounds of the world or to a wounded animal and been bitten upon the hand?

My apostles knew the terror and violence of the mob. Mankind have sought to proclaim the beauties of my mission. Few have dared to declare the terrors of that mission and the difficulties which we encountered. I do not mention them tonight in order to bring any negative stimulation or fear vibration into your worlds. But I mention them to stimulate within you a determination, if necessary, to face human discord with the pure Christ truth.

In this day and age, our representatives need to have enough faith to stand up straight, as I did upon the hillsides, and proclaim, “I AM a son of God.” Do you think, beloved ones, that this does not require courage? Then let me tell you that it does. And it requires some courage today. But I do not think, my beloved ones, that there are too many in this assembly lacking in that courage.

For I come here tonight with a spirit of rejoicing, feeling that I can charge into that beautiful flame that is already burning within your hearts a greater radiance and saturate you with more of the Father’s precious power. I will, therefore, tonight amplify within you that which you already have. Those treasures of heaven which shine within you with a beautiful radiance shall become more lustrous by reason of the added light of my own thought and feeling of love extended to you in the name of Almighty God, of your Father and mine, that you may spread abroad my peace everywhere upon earth.

Now, beloved ones, I would like to say a few words upon peace. The peace that I have is not the peace of the world. It is not a cessation of activities. It is a vital peace. It is a peace charged with activity. It is a peace that knows the power of Christ-accomplishment. As my beloved Kuthumi told you, at the end of each day there is a peace that steals into your hearts and remains anchored there because you are willing to do the works of a living Christ.1

I am going to pause now. And as I pause, I am going to radiate into your hearts a flame of greater and more intensified love. I choose to still the body of this messenger during this moment to make of his body and form an electrode, which I will magnetize in order to intensify the radiation within this place and charge your hearts with greater Christ love.

[66-second pause. Audience stands.]

Peace, be still. Peace, be still. Peace, be still!

(Won’t you please be seated.)

The authority of divine peace, when directed into the marketplaces, is recognized even by the uninitiated. Beloved ones, there are times when you probably feel that you pass unnoticed by mankind. But remember, if men do not see the radiance of the Christ within you, they will feel it. And if they are not conscious of that feeling, their own Holy Christ Self is.

And so, if in truth you radiate my love and my light, no man can be deceived by that love and that light. No man can for long doubt that love and that light. For if his outer mind choose to doubt, the inner Christ of that one is able to envision and to contact the aura and radiance of the love which shines forth from you.

Your works for the light, then, are never in vain. Services rendered to the light do not pass unnoticed by mankind or by heaven. Every act rendered lovingly, tenderly to any child of earth, even the offering of a cup of cold water2 in my name, does not pass unnoticed.

I am so well aware that the student body of this activity and those who love me throughout the world do not perform their deeds of service merely to be recognized by mankind. Sometimes, however, there is a loneliness that comes to your heart when you somehow fail to see the invisible (to you) recording of the record of the divine offering you make. And when mankind do not recognize it and you feel in the recesses of your heart a sense of loneliness, you may be inclined to feel a trifle uncomfortable, cut off and separated from the light.

Beloved ones, do this not. For the angels of heaven do ever behold the face of my Father and yours. And every jot and tittle of the Law is fulfilled. Not one deed rendered to the light escapes the notice of heaven. And if it did, beloved ones, there are many of you who would do it purely for the love of man. This is an interesting concept, but it is an example of unselfish love.

Some years ago, an individual in the state of Michigan related to this messenger through whom I am speaking the fact that I, whom you call beloved Jesus, and others of the great ascended masters performed our acts entirely because we knew the Great Law and we desired to be rewarded. I give my blessing to that one and to all who so think.

Do you, beloved ones, act for the sake of a reward? I think not. I think you act out of the moving impulse of divine love. I think you act because there is a seed within your heart, which is also within mine, which expands and expands and expands and ever expands! I think that it is this seed within your hearts that makes you a precious adornment to the garden of God, which in turn glorifies you.

I do not think the average student of the light—and I want you to notice that I say that even “the average student of the light”—acts for the sake of a reward. And I am certain you realize that we do not.

Oh, we do know the Law, beloved ones. We do know the Law. We know, of course, that every act that we performed in the name of God and all that we perform now is in service of the great unfailing light of God. We stand and knock at the doors of men’s hearts when we could be enjoying all the beauty and glory of heaven. But I ask you this in all fairness to the cosmic masters of the Great White Brotherhood: Would we be truly happy knowing that our brethren here upon earth were in a state of suffering or discontentment or confusion or misery unless we were alleviating their suffering and bringing to them peace?

If I am immortal and if I served two thousand years ago on the hillsides of Jerusalem and throughout the land of Palestine, think you that today, because I have won my ascension, I could do less than I did then? Nay, I tell you, I am come to do more!

Do you see, beloved ones? Do you see? (There are none so blind as they who will not see.) We act because of the impulse of this love which is planted within us. It is God! And we could act in no other way! We are free of motives. And all who are free of motives are well on the road towards their own freedom.

Motives, especially selfish motives, beloved ones, are like fences. They enclose, they encompass, and they keep in. But it is the gates that open and the doors that open that are the way to freedom. These gates are narrow and each individual must pass through them alone. You cannot walk en masse through them, although all of heaven might will that you could.

Individually, because you are individuals, you must acknowledge for yourselves the supremacy of the Father within your life. You must do the will of God. You must be the comforting Christ. It is not enough for me to have won my victory. The Great Law requires that each one of you shall win yours individually.

Those that do not understand the great mysteries inherent within the philosophies and religions of the world seem to feel that my crucifixion was a vicarious atonement whereby are dissolved and absolved all the sins of the world. But I say unto you, go and do thou likewise.3 Beloved ones, you are sons of God. Go and do thou likewise.

But the stain of Adam is not removed for you individually until you stand face-to-face with your own Divine Presence and, in a spirit of cosmic unity, are received by the Father back into his kingdom. If it were so—that my passing and my sacrifice would have dissolved the stain of death passed upon man by Adam (according to the translations of the ancient records)—then the moment I cried, “It is finished,”4 signifying the end of my mission, no one would have died from that moment on.

Men do not understand that God has conferred upon them life, that karma stifles the manifestation of that life when it is negative and destructive, that the Great Law requires that karma be balanced, that no sacrifice could remove the karma of an individual unless that individual, by free will, were willing to return himself to the light from whence he came.

And if all men’s karma were balanced at a moment, would they not ascend, beloved ones? Would they not, then, ascend into the light if they were karma-less? And would not the whole world have ascended, then?

But, beloved ones, I have gone in search of the sheep who have strayed from the sheepfold, and the straying sheep are not one but many. They are many.

The children of the earth are yet required to find God their Saviour—their own Holy Christ Self, the one divine Mediator between God and man. The Mediator was not my lifestream, but it is the Christ lifestream, the great Holy Christ Self of everyone upon earth. This is the Mediator between God and man.

Turn, then, to your own Holy Christ Self that it may teach you about the laws of the Father. The Holy Christ Self can be a comfort to you world without end. But you are not alone. In addition to your Holy Christ Self, you have the presence of all of the ascended masters and the great Spirit of the Great White Brotherhood to render its unparalleled assistance.

When you pass through that door that leads to your own immortality and victory, you can successfully do so by holding on to the hands of your Holy Christ Self. This is the Saviour of the world, the Saviour of your own world—that sinless radiance which descended from the heart of your mighty I AM Presence and serves to this day as the Mediator between that Presence and your human personality.

One day the dross shall drop aside from your human personality. And through the violet fire, the violet transmuting flame, you shall remove the last vestige of karma which the Great Law requires. Then you shall ascend on wings of light from your own hill of Bethany1—symbolically speaking, for this ascension can take place anywhere upon the planet; it does not matter where. For once you have ascended into the heart of your Presence, you are one with it eternally, even as I am.

I thank you, precious ones of the light, for your attention to my words and my radiance this night. You have opportunity without parallel offered to you during this freedom class. My presence is ever near to assist, and beloved Kuthumi stands beside me. As cosmic teachers of the light that does not fail, we shall continue to pour our radiance and assistance to every one of you until you are one day ere too long, we hope, as free as we are.

I thank you and bid you good evening.

5. The ascension from the hill of Bethany. Traditionally, Jesus is believed to have ascended from Bethany’s hill. However, the ascended masters have revealed in their later teachings that Jesus did not ascend at the conclusion of his Palestinian ministry. After his crucifixion and resurrection he journeyed to Kashmir, and at the age of eighty-one he took his ascension from the etheric retreat of Shamballa. The messenger has explained that in the ceremony on Bethany’s hill, Jesus removed himself from Palestine. He left in secret so that “he would no longer be there, could no longer be sought after, looked to.... He had fulfilled his mission in Palestine.” See Jesus Christ, June 27, 1993, “The Path of the Builders,” 1993 Pearls of Wisdom, vol. 36, no. 36, pp. 522-23.
