Psychic Thralldom
Part 5
One of the strategies of the forces of the astral plane is to masquerade as beings of light. The Elohim Astrea exposes this strategy and reveals the dangers of consorting with such spirits: “Precious ones, you well know the comfort of the familiar. The familiar is as a pacifier to a small child. It presents a known quantity, a known quality and the comfort of a dear friend. The billions of earth’s evolutions today are all subject in one form or another to the variegated manifestations of the psychic world. Yet the multitudes do not know that they are subjected to psychic dominion and psychic pressures. But they do know that they are caught between the yin and yang1 of experiencing happiness one moment and unhappiness the next.
“There are many who are engaged in forms of spiritual work who, by reason of their own human egos and the desire for association with the invisible world, are trapped into an alliance with one or more entities harbored in the psychic realm. These do, then, develop what we may term a very unhealthy friendship with the denizens of the astral world.
“You have heard it said that ‘Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.’ One of the aspects of the psychic world that makes it difficult to detect the dangers inherent within it is the chameleon-like nature of the entities, fallen angels, demons and vampire forces that exist there solely upon the stolen, albeit in many cases willingly given, energies of mankind.
“If men and women knew that they were perpetuating psychic horror when they tacitly give their energies or permit them to be stolen by the forces that inhabit the astral world, they would definitely be on guard twenty-four hours a day. It would not be long, then, before those of us who function on the cosmic planes to deliver mankind from the fierce vortices of misqualified energy would be free to take our leave of the earth’s evolutions, knowing that mankind would cease to create the horrible episodes that are born daily of misqualified thought and feeling.
“I wish to stress in particular that from time to time many religious people make contact with vicious astral forces masquerading as angels of light and purporting to be ascended masters. In reality, these entities seek only to deceive mankind and to perform upon the waiting stage of their consciousness an unfolding drama of mutually magnetized attention—mutually magnetized because the individual in contact with the entity is enthralled with the concept that he, as a person, is, in reality, at last in touch with the ‘invisible realm of the ascended masters.’
“What a pity it is, precious ones, to disabuse the minds of these children of God who are caught in an astral trap. Often when the truth is presented to them, they are so heartbroken by the facts at hand that they refuse to accept them, and they continue the misalliance they have formed with the illicit masquerader. This blinds their eyes to the astral dangers and causes them to be led further and further from the truth and deeper and deeper into association with these marauding entities. At last, having extended almost their total personality into this realm of shadow (which they consider to be a realm of light), they are completely victimized by the sinister hoax and strategy that has been worked upon them, and they can no longer call their souls their own.
“Forced, then, to a form of obedient disobedience by the controlling entities, they mock the reality of truth and the high standards of the Deity. It is difficult for them, then, to recognize the difference between reality and shadow, for the shadow in which they dwell becomes to them a reality. And because of their disconnection from the developing or latent realities of God within their own life, they are unable to recover their balance.
“Often individuals are fooled by the fact that the entities give forth some measure of truth, while even the lies that they put forth are imitations of the truth. Because the utterances are sometimes given in a simple or sweet way with honeyed phrases of endearment or dissertations freely using the word love, people become snared by the idea of the truth of the utterance, and thus they say in defense of their positions, ‘But it makes such good sense!’
“In the name of heaven, blessed ones, it is not the spoken or printed words that are released but it is the Word of God that is ‘sharper than a two-edged sword’2 that cometh through the ascended master octaves and the octaves of light that does glorify God. All that is foreign to his nature, all that is false or falsifying, all that is and does emanate from the psychic realm has no part in the reality of God, which exists far, far above the realm of psychic vibratory action.”3
El Morya speaks of the necessity to “try the spirits”: “This is the age of the testing of the spirits. Therefore, as John said, ‘Try the spirits whether they are of God.’4 How does one try the spirits? Blessed ones, you challenge every voice within or without that comes to you in the name of the Lord:
In the name of the living God, my own I AM Presence, and by the flame of Jesus the Christ, I challenge every voice that speaks from within or from without. And I say, I demand that you show forth your light! I call forth the flame of the Holy Spirit to consume in you all that is less than God’s perfection. I call forth the Elohim and the All-Seeing Eye of God to expose the truth, to expose the lie, and to strip all mortal consciousness of its mortality. Let it be replaced here and now with the immortal flame of God-reality.
In the name of the Christ, I call to the Elohim Astrea to encircle the cause and core of every spirit of deception, self-deceived and deceiving. I call to Archangel Michael to cut me free by the action of the sword of blue lightning from every entity inhabiting the astral plane, from all denizens of the deep.
And I call to Mother Mary and her virgin consciousness to intercede for me in the name of Jesus the Christ, that my soul and my four lower bodies might be preserved as a chalice of purity to receive only the word of Almighty God and his true emissaries. So let it be done in the name of the I AM THAT I AM! And let the hosts of the LORD come forth to defend the Word incarnate in the souls of all mankind.5
“Precious ones moving toward the center of the I AM THAT I AM, the ascended masters and representatives of the Great White Brotherhood, whether on this or any system of worlds, will never be offended by this invocation. Those who are offended, both giving and taking offense, are not of the Christ. Every emissary of the light is required by Law to show forth the credentials of his light to all who demand those credentials.
“Therefore, speak with the voice of one who has the authority of the Christ and the commandment of God; and accept the covenant of Jesus given unto his disciples ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.’6
“It is lawful to question the purveyors of the false teachings and those whose lives do not bear the fruits of living truth. As it is written, ‘By their fruits ye shall know them.’7 And so without hesitation Jesus cursed the barren fig tree, saying, ‘Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever’;8 for the elemental spirit thereof had failed to provide fruit for the souls of mankind. Thus is the judgment of the Four and Twenty Elders pronounced upon those false hierarchs of the age even as Jesus spoke unto those who proclaimed themselves authorities of the law: ‘Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.’9
“Let it be known, then, that sweet water and bitter do not come forth from the same fount.10 Likewise, those who have failed to surrender the lesser self unto God, those who have failed to make this sacrifice, are not counted among our emissaries. They come teaching in their own name instead of in the name of the ascended masters. Instead of giving God the glory, they pursue the vainglory of name and fame for their teaching or their system or their methodology.”11
The Descent in Consciousness
Astrea outlines how mankind have become enmeshed in the psychic and how we can be free of such entanglements: “In order to explain clearly what is taking place among mankind between the demarcation lines of what you have referred to as ‘the cradle to the grave,’ I desire to call to your attention that the life that is within you, that beats your heart, that emanates from God, is always derived from your individualized God Presence through your own Holy Christ Self and flows through the silver cord of cosmic energy into your own lifestream.
“You must always remember that there is never any misqualification of that pure stream of energy by your own individualized Divine Presence. Neither is there any misqualification that occurs in the bonds of your Holy Christ Self, or Higher Mental Body. The stream of energy comes as a flow of ‘molten gold’ right into your heart’s aura, where it pulsates and creates the manifestation of the threefold flame of life, the tripartite flame of divine Reality, which ought to be in perfect balance as love, wisdom and power.
“Misqualification occurs, then, when individuals accept this descending arc of cosmic triumph, either in the bonds of mortal ignorance (by just taking their lives for granted without realizing the Source until it is cut off) or by accepting this energy and then, in error, misqualifying that energy to create a mortal dream, which more than likely resembles a nightmare of transitory reality.
“There is only one way in which men and women may [correctly] qualify the energy of their I AM Presence, and that is by calling to God, to their individualized God Presence and to their Holy Christ Self daily to qualify for them according to his will all of the energy that God is sending through their lifestream. Thus God’s energy will flow forth unobstructed to bless every part of life by right thought, right action and right manifestation of every intent that the Father has for his creation.
“What happens instead, however, is that along the pathway of manifestation individuals become imbued with the idea of having a separate free will and the need to assert it. Their right to express as they will often takes the form of rebellion, resentment or the feeling that God could have taken better control of their lives and therefore saved them many of the awful experiences through which they have passed.
“They do not remember the day nor the hour when, as the prodigal one,12 they asked to be given the bonds of mortal limitation, of control of the sweet energies that God gave to them. They asked for their portion of the infinite inheritance of God, but the cosmic law could not bestow the infinite upon that which was not yet prepared to receive it. And therefore, of necessity, mankind’s inheritance became mortal, transitory and temporary. He was embodied in a land of opportunity where he could choose for himself the way in which he should go. ‘Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve,’13 therefore, became an unspoken law to all men; and the majority chose to pursue their own course, following by whimsy a pattern that was often a duplication of their fellowman’s walk without God.
“Experience without attachment to the Deity or to his original design created records. Records became akasha.14 Akashic substance attached itself to the memory body of man, to his physical form, to his consciousness, to the whole man until the substance of akasha became, by reason of its thickening, a gray veil of misqualified, mortal episodes. Embodiment after embodiment, individuals created in error. Denying the Deity within, they wove veil after veil of encasement like the rings upon trees. There is no doubt that these were composed of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ energy, of violence and of service. Yet the angels of record had no authority to cut man down, as the harvest had not yet arrived. And therefore the tares of human creation grew up with the fine wheat of man’s obedience to cosmic precept. ”15

1. Such emotional pendulum swings result when the energies of yin and yang—the two opposing but complementary forces or principles in Chinese philosophy whose interactions regulate the universe—are not balanced and harmonious. The goal of life is to be the Alpha/Omega, yin/yang balance. Unless man maintains a balanced flow of the yin and yang energies in his four lower bodies, he leaves himself open to disease, decay, unhappiness, and the symptoms of old age. Moreover, he is incapable of drawing and holding abundant supply to meet his spiritual and material needs. These signs of incompleteness are the result of man’s inability to maintain the balance of the Father-Mother God in his thoughts, feelings, words and actions. Balance and harmony can be restored when one is centered in the heart and has the stability of the Christ.
