A Meditation for Unity
Hail, lightbearers of Canada!
I rejoice with you at the increase of the light in the heart of this great nation. I am so happy to be having this time together with all of you here in Ottawa and I hope to come back again soon.
I celebrate with you the victory of hearts united in divine purpose. I extend my heart to all of you and I trust that your heart will touch millions, truly millions, of sons and daughters of Canada.
We are going to open our session with a few lines from The Song of Hiawatha by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, read by Mark Prophet. These lines set the stage for our communion together.
At this point in The Song of Hiawatha, the Creator of the nations has summoned all the warriors of the tribes to a special council. [Playback of Mark L. Prophet reciting The Song of Hiawatha:]

The Ascended Masters are deeply concerned about unity and about disunity. We see division all around us. We see it every day on the news and we see it in our own neighbor-hoods and communities. We see terrorism and ethnic conflict. We see disputes over property and borders, over position and power.
Our movement of light is dedicated to fulfilling Saint Germain’s dream of a golden age of peace and enlightenment on earth. But this can never become a reality where there is division, discord or alienation.
As you know, our emphasis this year and in the coming years is on building strong communities of the spirit around the world. This, too, cannot become a reality where there is division or discord, where we feel alienated or alone.
Our byword must be those ringing words from The Song of Hiawatha: “All your strength is in your union, All your danger is in discord; therefore be at peace hence-forward. And as brothers live together.”
So today we are going to do a meditation together for the resolution of disunity both within the circle of our own lives and within the world. Unity is the hallmark of community—the place where we truly achieve lasting communion with each other.
Mark Prophet taught that the inner meaning of “communion” is “come ye into union.” That is what we want to accomplish in our meditation today: Come ye into union with the flame of God in your heart; come ye into union with your Mighty I AM Presence and with your God; come ye into union with each other.
Before we begin, please take out the following decrees and songs that we will be giving. First of all, “I AM Light,” 7.10A; then “I AM the Light of the Heart,” 0.07A; decree 8.00, “O Mighty Light” and decree 20.15, “Decree for Brotherhood.”
We will be singing song 29, “Introit to the Holy Christ Flame,” song 286, “Micah, Angel of Unity,” to the angel who united the peoples of this hemisphere and finally, song 285, “The Sweetest Psalm.”
Micah, the Sponsor of Our Meditation
The sponsor of our meditation on unity is Micah, the angel of unity. As you know, he is the son of Archangel Michael and his job is to amplify the peace and harmony of unity throughout the world.
Micah overshadowed the children of Israel throughout their desert wanderings. You can picture Micah in that white-fire cloud that accompanied the children of Israel—the “pillar of cloud by day” and the “pillar of fire by night.” <1>
Meditation
Step I
The Challenge of Finding Unity
In your day-to-day life, finding and holding onto unity can be challenging. From time to time, we all do things that we don’t feel good about. We have mistreated others or we have habit patterns that may have alienated us from others.
We may feel separated from others because of our preconceived notions about them or because we have had encounters with them in this or in past lives that have left a scar. And remember, we are talking about inner unity as well as outer unity. We may not always be at peace inside of ourselves.
You can ask Micah and his angels of unity to walk by your side and help you to overcome the obstacles to your inner unity and your unity with others.
Please close your eyes now and silently call to Micah to place his presence over you--his Electronic Presence multiplied many times over--for the remainder of this meditation. Invite him to overshadow you and show you what it feels like to be cradled in the flame of unity.
Center in your heart. Go within and consciously draw all of your attention and energy to the point of the heart.
Mighty I AM Presence and great hosts of the Lord, beloved Micah, Angel of Unity, intensify your presence with us now. Overshadow all who would be of one heart with those in heavenly realms and octaves of light as well as with those here below as we make our way on the path of the ascension.
Step 2
Feel Your Heartbeat One with God’s Heartbeat
Micah says:“You are wholly dependent upon the invin-cible power of God that beats your heart. Therefore your heart ought to throb with the hearts of angels in the cosmic beat of unity.” <2> Feel your heart beating right now. Know that God is alive in you.
Now feel your heartbeat pulsating as one with God’s heartbeat. There is no separation between you and God. See yourself in your mind’s eye as the spiritual being that you are. See your body composed of light. See your very atoms and cells glowing with light, pulsating to the rhythm of your heartbeat—one with God’s heartbeat. Your physical form disappears as you become all light.

Step 3
See the White Light Intensify Around You
Now see the white light intensifying around you, expanding your aura. Each one of us is becoming an expanding globe of white light. As our auras interpenetrate, the entire room is immersed in a dazzling bright sea of white light. Within this sea of God’s light, there is no division. There is only oneness with God—and with the God in each other. We are one; we are one; we are one.
As we give the mantra we visualize everyone in the room suffused in the pure white light of God. We also say this by the power of the three.

Step 4
Meditate on the Peace of Being at Home in God
And now we meditate upon the peace that we experience in the feeling of being at home in God. Drink in this peace now as you concentrate on being one with your God, with your brothers and sisters in your communities, wherever you may be.
We come from the One and we are striving to return to the One. But in the middle we sometimes forget that we are all part of the one mystical body of God. We are all children of the same Father-Mother God. We are extensions of the one God, like rays of the Sun.
I and my Father are One.
I and my Mother are One.
I and my brother and sister are One.
Together we move through the light to the Sun.
Step 5
Stay Centered in the Threefold Flame of Your Heart
The next step to finding greater unity and the solutions to knotty problems is to stay centered in the threefold flame of the heart. Staying centered means being neither too far to the right nor too far to the left. For God is neither too far to the right nor too far to the left; God is always in the center—the center of your heart.
It is in the center where solutions occur. The center is where “sol,” the sun, and “u” are in action together: sol- u- tion. Let us go to that center now.
See your threefold flame in the secret chamber of your heart—the blue plume to the left, the yellow plume in the center, the pink plume to the right--rising from a sphere of white light at the base. Feel the intensity of those flames burning right there in the center of your chest where your heart chakra is located. See the blue, the yellow and the pink plumes in perfect balance.
Continue to concentrate on your threefold flame and see it expanding within you as we sing song 29, the “Introit to the Holy Christ Flame”:

Step 6
Form a Circle of Unity
Now that we are centered in our heart, we are ready for the next step. Think of an area of your life where you can improve unity and harmony. Think of one or more people you feel separated from or alienated from. These may be members of your family, friends or so-called foes, co-workers, your work team, members of your community, or even members of a specific ethnic group or race. You may be divided on personal, local or national issues.
Pick the most important issue at hand for you to deal with, and select a few key people who are a part of that issue. In your mind’s eye visualize the people involved. See yourself joining hands with them to form a circle.
There may not be an easy solution to the source of division that is an issue for your circle. But one thing is certain. If you are to resolve the issue, you must rise above the details and come to higher ground.
Step 7
Approach Issues from a Heart-Perspective
You must approach the issue from a God’s-eye view and from a heart-perspective. That is a key to sustaining unity: perspective. When we get caught up in details, when we don’t center in our heart, we can’t see the forest for the trees. We can’t see the whole picture because the details are in the way.
A friend once told me that whenever he would change his place of residence, he would hike to the highest place he could as soon as possible. He did this in order to get the big picture of where he was living. Then, even when he would be in the lowlands, he could feel part of the greater whole. He had the greater vision, so he could transcend the details.
Step 8
Concentrate on Each One’s Gift
Likewise, within your circle there is more than at first meets the eye. There may be burdens you are not aware of that are the real source of division. Concentrate now on each person in your circle. God has given each one of them a unique gift to share—a special virtue or talent or skill.
As the apostle Paul wrote: “There are many different gifts, but it is always the same Spirit; there are many different ways of serving, but it is always the same Lord. There are many different forms of activity, but in everybody it is the same God who is at work in them all….Now Christ’s body is yourselves, each of you with a part to play in the whole.” <3>
Take a moment and turn to each one in your circle. Try to recognize what their specific gift is. Tell them how grateful you are for that gift. And encourage them to share that gift more often with others.
Contemplate the great love you have for them, calling forth the Holy Spirit and the violet flame to transmute any issues that arise in your mind so that you might be one in heart and soul and mind with all who are the sons and daughters of God.
[Pause while you contemplate each one’s gift.]
Step 9
Understand Each One’s Burden
We are going to move on now.
Next, go to each person and try to imagine what might be their burden. Send light to their seven chakras and their eighth-ray chakra. Try to put yourself in their shoes.
If you do not know what their burden is, ask them to tell it to you. Then, one at a time, turn to those in your circle and comfort them. Tell them you understand their burden and you will pray that their burden become light. You can also share with them what your burden is. Take your time and open your heart now to them.
[Take as long as you need to understand each one’s burden and share yours with them.]
Step 10
See Saint Germain in the Center of Your Circle
To continue the process of dissolving the barriers with those in your circle, we are now going to visualize Saint Germain standing in the middle.
See violet flame blazing from his purple fiery heart. See the flames from his heart shooting out to the hearts of everyone in your circle so that all of you are connected by ribbons of violet fire to his heart, like spokes on a wheel.
Sustain this visualization as we give the decree “I AM the Light of the Heart.” As you recite this, see and feel the obstacles to unity collapsing as they are transmuted through the purple fiery heart of our beloved Saint Germain.

Step 11
Bring the Flame of Unity to the World
Now let us expand our consciousness of unity to our planet.
By bringing the flame of unity to pockets of discord on earth, we can lighten the loads of those who are weighed down with burdens—burdens that may have existed all through their lives, even extending back into past lives.
First, bring to mind a troubled area of the world where you want to bring the flame of unity. It could be a place where fanaticism breeds international terrorism. It could be the division between Quebec and the rest of Canada.
It could be the strife between the Palestinians and Israelis. It could be the longstanding enmity between the Serbs, Croats and Muslims in Bosnia—or the struggle between ethnic Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo.
Pick one situation. Try to visualize the details of the situation. In your mind’s eye, look at the news that you have been seeing every night and the terrible things that have come upon the people of the nations--cataclysm as well as darkness and desperation.
Let us pray fervently by the power of the ruby ray for the cleansing fires of God to bring all mankind to a higher understanding of eternal life. This we call from the heart of the Seven Holy Kumaras, the legions of light and all the legions of Micah, Angel of Unity.
You can give your prayers silently or aloud.
[Give your prayers for world situations.]
Step 12
Let There Be Light!
Now let us say together the fiat of Elohim, “Let there be light!” nine times. As you say this, see beams of light flashing into the situation you are visualizing. And see that light be so intense that in no way can it ever be put out.
Let there be light! Let there be light! Let there be light!

To intensify this action of projecting light into hot spots around the world, let us give together decree 8.00, “O Mighty Light.”
This decree was written by the Goddess of Light. I asked her many, many years ago, in 1966 to write this decree for me. “Please, write for us a decree that brings down tremendous light,” I begged her. So she gave us this decree and thus we are blessed and we will use it.
But remember, the more specific your visualizations, the more effective the response will be to your decree. Let us give it three times to release the power of the three.

Step 13
George Washington’s Vision
George Washington once had a vision in which the angel Micah appeared to him. The vision was of three conflicts: the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and a third conflict on American soil. The conflicts were only overcome through union and divine assistance.
In his vision of the second conflict, the Civil War, Washington saw the people of the United States in battle array against each other. Then a bright angel appeared. A crown of light rested on the angel’s brow, and on that crown was traced the word “union.”
The angel placed the American flag between the divided nation and said, “Remember, ye are brethren.” Instantly the inhabitants put down their weapons and became friends once more.
That angel of unity was Micah. And that is the message he wants us to embody and to shout from the housetops: “Remember, ye are brethren.”
In the third conflict of Washington’s vision, vast armies attacked America. Again the angel of unity descended, bearing the American flag in one hand and a sword in the other. He was accompanied by “legions of white spirits” who joined the people of America and gave them renewed courage to win their battle.
Step 14
Micah Plants His Flag in the Center of the Conflict
Go back now in your mind’s eye to the hot spot you are focusing on. And see the angel Micah with the flag of that nation in one hand and a sword in the other. See him plant the flag right in the center of the conflict. See his angels descending into that situation.
Let us say together with them—right into the very core of the conflict—“Remember, ye are brethren!”

Continue visualizing Micah and his angels bringing sanity and unity to the situation as we sing his song, number 286, “Micah, Angel of Unity.”

To further anchor the light of unity we will give decree 20.15, “Decree for Brotherhood.” As you give it, feel the flame of unity dissolving walls of separation. Feel the solidarity of lightbearers under the banner of the Great White Brotherhood.

Out of the One, |
Micah once said that every individual must “stand guard every moment at his own doorstep to keep his house sweet and his heart a gateway for praise, wherein the glory of unity is preferred above all else.” <4>
“Stand guard”—these very words are part of Canada’s national anthem: “O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.” May we stand and sing that hymn. Make your calls, please, for Canada and especially for the government. [Personal prayers and fiats given; Song 733, “O Canada,” sung once.]
In order to stand guard to protect unity we must start with ourselves and then move to the circle of our communities and nations. As Gandhi once said: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Sources of disunity on a national scale will not go away overnight. They take concerted work. They take sustained calls to Archangel Michael and his son, Micah. They take lots of violet flame to transmute the records and the hurts and wounds of the past.
Don’t forget Saint Germain’s Sacred Ritual for the Creation of the Cloud. This can be extremely effective for resolving both personal and world problems. (We have an abbreviated version of this ritual in our mini-book Creative Abundance.)
So, we can do a great service for the world if we concentrate our prayers and our violet-flame decrees into situations of discord. But we must also be examples of the flame of unity and of community, right where we are.
To close our meditation, let us give a concluding invocation:
Beloved Micah and legions of Light, beloved Micah who guided the children of Israel through the Red Sea, I demand the full power of the mighty union, the one ion of the Mighty I AM Presence of the I AM Race. Draw together in the ineffable love of that union now the full power of the Godhead for the union of the forces of light in North, Central, and South America. I demand the rallying of the I AM Race worldwide.
Burn through, O living flame of light! Beloved Micah, descend into this sanctuary in this very hour for the victory of the light. We call you forth. Raise now the ensign of the people. Raise the banner of the Lord Our Righteousness. Raise the banner of union.
In the name of the Father, the Mother, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
