I AM the Witness

Simultaneous Prayer Produces Action
“Wherever Two or Three are Gathered...”

Dear Mother,

What I am about to tell you is an extraordinary event that happened to me many years ago, but it is still vivid in my memory as one of the greatest confirmations of prayer God has ever shown me.

I was driving home late one evening when I began having car trouble. I was on the freeway, approaching a big hill, with no exits nearby. The car started sputtering. I didn’t want to be stranded so I started making fervent calls to the Masters for help. As I climbed the hill, the car just choked until the engine cut out. I pulled over to the side and just sat there. It was after 11:00 p.m. on a weekday and not too many cars were on the road.

Not more than a minute passed when a car pulled over in front of mine. A young Mexican man jumped out and started walking towards me. I rolled down my window.

“I knew it was you that needed help,” he said with a strong Spanish accent.

“What exactly do you mean?” I replied.

Looking mystified he explained, “I was praying to Jesus and Mary just a while ago, like I always do before I go to bed, when suddenly I heard a voice speaking to me. But there was no one else in the room!  It was a soft, beautiful female voice. She told me that there was someone I needed to help. She told me to get in my car and just drive and I’d find that person. In fact, she even told me to take my truck with the tow hitch. I thought I was just dreaming so I tried to ignore it. But the voice wouldn’t leave me alone. I went to tell my wife, but she thought I was crazy to hear such a voice—and then to obey it besides!

“I told my wife that I had to heed this voice. So I got in my car and just drove. I didn’t know what road to take or which direction to drive in. I was traveling for about five minutes when I saw you alongside the road. I couldn’t believe it!  So you must be the one I am supposed to help!”

“Wow!  That’s amazing!”  I cried out.

“Were you praying for help?” he asked.

“Yes, I certainly was, as a matter of fact!” I replied.

“Wow!  It really worked!” he said in astonishment.

He tried to help me start my car with no success and just decided to give me a ride home. When we arrived, he told me, “I will never forget this experience.”

“Me neither,” I smiled.

I thanked him and said good-bye.

This experience put me in a real high and was truly inspiring, to say the least. It proved again to me that our calls, great and small, are definitely being heard and answered!  It also proved to me that there are many souls in the world with pure hearts that are God’s instruments.

Thank you, Masters!
