Perfecta Francia Torres
Perfecta Francisca Torres was born in Guananico, Altamira of the Puerto Plata province, in the Dominican Republic on March 17, 1940. She unexpectedly made her transition on Friday, January 26, 2018 just before 2 am from a heart attack at the age of 77. Francia, as we called her, worked as an English professor for children.

She became a Keeper of the Flame on August 10, 1981 and mentioned to us that her first experience with the Summit Lighthouse was at a conference in the Winter of 1980 in Malibu, California.

Upon her return, she introduced the teachings of the Ascended Masters to the Dominican Republic. She was a constant supporter of the vigorous expansion of the Teachings throughout the country and, from her work as a founding member, she inspired other Keepers of the Flame to help establishing a TSL’s Study Group in Santo Domingo which is now a Community Teaching Center for the Church Universal and Triumphant.

She was frequently appointed as a Board member of our Teaching Center and, at the time of her transition, she labored as Vice-President; a period in which she worked tirelessly for the expansion of the Teachings.

As an extraordinary devotee of Kuan Yin, she was a shining example of unconditional friendship and showed great heart through her sweet and kind demeanor by infusing joy to those in her presence. She was sensitive to children and generous with her time in listening to their needs. By her side, one felt very loved; she was surely an angel from heaven.

Her siblings say that, for them, she was an example of love and forgiveness; always assisting and caring for someone without asking for anything in return. She lived to serve including those who had acted against her.

One of her traits was to always carry certain items for the needy and the weak of spirit like books and pamphlets of the teachings, food, clothes and toys. She loved pets; her own and those of others and they loved her in turn. She was also a beacon of humility, never seeking advantage.

Her sisters maintained that Francia was never cause of any conflict for anyone, from the time of her birth to the day of her death, and though they themselves have been ignorant to the teachings of the Ascended Masters, they are now eager to gain more knowledge about Kuan Yin.
