The Joy of Outreach

By Elizabeth St. Clair

Jesus gave us the injunction: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” [Mark 16:15] “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” [Matt. 24:14] I am taking classes at Summit University in the Ministerial B series and I recently took EDUC 1380 Outreach Principals and Techniques in The Summit Lighthouse. To me this was an inspiring and extremely helpful class. Washington DC outreachI belong to the Washington DC Community Teaching Center and we participate every year in two expo’s and follow-up lectures. This is a picture from our March 30, 2014 expo booth.

There are many venues to outreach and EDUC 1380 is the perfect class to understand how to go out into the world and preach the gospel to every living creature. I am a member of Project Reach Out (PRO) and I touch those people who contact the Summit Lighthouse. I love writing letters and talking with people on the telephone. I love the prayer support team that is a part of PRO.

If you are interested in being a part of PRO in either capacity please contact our wonderful leaders Patricia Parham, contact team, drparham@parhament.com and Sheena Connell, prayer team, radiatinglight@comcast.net. There are so many options and subjects for outreach.

Did you know that creating flyers and posters is doing outreach? When you create documents with information from the Summit Lighthouse you need to get it approved by headquarters and there are two wonderful people that I work with Gregory Bodwell, gbodwell@tsl.org and Jane Hohmann, JaneHohmann@tsl.org. Both Gregory and Jane will check the publication to make sure we are correctly presenting the teachings. I know this is a load off of my shoulders. I do not want to create karma by presenting the teachings incorrectly.

There are a couple of other things that we do at the Washington, D.C. Community Teaching Center for outreach that may be helpful to you. We have:

  • A blog on the Teachings of the Ascended Masters® Washington, D.C., Community Teaching Center Blog,
  • A Facebook page Washington, D.C. Community Teaching Center,
  • A meetup group Washington, D.C. Community Teaching Center, meetup group and
  • Webpage that we link together so the message is consistent.

The most important thing I learned from the class EDUC 1380 is you must make a plan. Elizabeth Clare Prophet said, “You see, nothing happens without a plan. This is what is so important about our alchemy of the victory. If we don’t plan the victory, there’ll be no matrix into which to pour the energies of victory. As soon as you set a matrix, all of the energies of your being move to fill that matrix…And because of the plan we have set, we will know exactly what we have to do and the energy will be available from our causal body and our Christ Selves to do it. And every day we will draw that amount of strength and energy and we will fulfill that portion of the plan and we will be careful not to waste our energy, because we will have a real sense of loss when we lose a day. A day is a very important part of the total victory.” Elizabeth Clare Prophet, May 4, 1977.

I AM grateful to God for using me to reach out and touch his lost seeds.

One Response to The Joy of Outreach

  1. It’s interesting that Washington has a blog on the teachings. A few years ago I started a blog for the London Study group so we would have a web presence for seekers, some teachings and testimonials. However I was told by HQ that this was not permitted because they didn’t have the staff to check each entry.
I understood this and so refrained from posting anything other than event announcements.
I was wondering if the ruling has now been changed or what safeguards are in place to protect the disseminatin of the teachings, so as Elizabeth says, we don’t create karma by creating false or ambiguous information?
